About the Event

"It's Always an Adventure" and while we can't get out to adventure right now due to COVID-19, what we can do is read about the outdoors! Pick up our third book club pick, Blue Highways: A Journey into America by William Least Heat-Moon, and join us for a virtual gathering on Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at 5:30pm Pacific Time/8:30pm Eastern Time to discuss our thoughts about the book in addition to our longings for our next great adventure!

A copy of the book club selection, Blue Highways: A Journey into America by William Least Heat-Moon, can be purchased via Amazon. Or rather, please consider supporting your local independent bookstore.

Hailed as a masterpiece of American travel writing, Blue Highways is an unforgettable journey along our nation's backroads.

Description: “William Least Heat-Moon set out with little more than the need to put home behind him and a sense of curiosity about "those little towns that get on the map -- if they get on at all -- only because some cartographer has a blank space to fill: Remote, Oregon; Simplicity, Virginia; New Freedom, Pennsylvania; New Hope, Tennessee; Why, Arizona; Whynot, Mississippi."

His adventures, his discoveries, and his recollections of the extraordinary people he encountered along the way amount to a revelation of the true American experience.

Enjoy the book! Hope to see you on Thursday, August 27th at 5:30pm Pacific Time/8:30pm Eastern Time on Zoom!

Newcomers are always welcome! Please direct questions, concerns, suggestions, and/or recommendations to krista.muscarella@gmail.com.
